The Sex Talk

Well since writing about this I have some great news. My baby is having a baby… I guess this whole incident didn’t scar her, for you see she plans on having 4 children. I think we all say that… I wanted 5, but had 2 and then 3 step daughters came along, so you see God did give me 5. Wow…
I will be flying to Virginia to be with her for the birth, and helping her for a few weeks. I am so excited; just as I was with all the grandchildren. All 13, 14 will be a boy.. Jaq Moses. Gotta love that name…
See you soon little Jaq, can’t wait to hold you and kiss you and watch you grow!! God I love all my grandkids….

If you’re a Parent then you know the time will come when you have to have that dreaded talk with your children about the birds and the bees.
My daughters were about 7 & 9; they came home to inform me that their 15 Year old babysitter was going to have a baby. Their questions??? How could that happen? She isn’t married, mommy I don’t understand, how can you have a baby if you don’t have a husband?
My husband looks at me, and smiles saying “ha ha, you have to give them the sex talk. ” squirming.. and sweating I say. “Well girls tomorrow we can go have pizza a
nd I will explain everything.
I am nervous, wondering how much information I should give them, well.. I will play it by ear and be as truthful as I can.
We go to our favorite pizza place, sit in…

River rafting

I have gone on some rafting trips in Colorado and It was during a time when I was afraid of water and couldn’t swim. ( WEIRD but Don’t judge me). My granddaughter wants to go, so I am going again; this time I won’t be afraid because I can swim a little. .lol.
If you’re ever in Colorado this is something you need to experience, even it’s a one time thing. Most of these places will take a picture and video of your trip.
Buena vista is a beautiful place; but my favorite is going through the Royal Gorge. ..wow..  talk about gorgeous!
As we go through Rapids there is excitement,  nervousness and awe. Awe for nature and  God’s beautiful planet earth.
We tried a new place called raftmasters, you can go to http://www.raftmasters.com I highly recommend them. Great price, friendly, clean and our guides were great. We love Zee! Nothing like a great guide to make it enjoyable and fun!

So in closing…. Life is what you make it…. so ENJOY IT!

Brussels

I have been watching the news and every time I see the video of the carnage, I can hear a young child crying and screaming; watching and listening I always cry… that poor child. Is she by her momma or daddy? Is she alone,  scared wondering what happened?
One woman said she thought it was the end of the world. Is this really how we want to live? Will we become like the thousands of refugees forced to leave their homes?
I am probably just venting, but I for one am really tired of innocent people being hurt because they don’t have the same beliefs as these terrorists.
I know there are those that say praying and prayers don’t help, but I do feel it does… so….
GOD BLESS YOU IN BRUSSELS.  I PRAY FOR PEACE.

GOD PLEASE …. GIVE THEM COMFORT right now..

Find these terrorists. ..

EASY Posole -slow cooker

With the winter months here and it being so cold (really cold in Colorado), what is better than Posole, stew, soup and easy crockpot cooking. Take time to spend with family. I also take whats left and freeze it! Enjoy with bread, tortillas whatever you like.

Whimsical Wanderers

Traveling should be fun, enjoyable, and hopefully not expensive. I have camped, done the rv thing, did a cruise, but I love doing “road trips”. These trips seem to be the most rewarding; there is nothing like seeing our beautiful countryside and stopping to enjoy the view whenever you feel like it. While I live in Colorado, I love visiting other states. I have actually had people tell me they have never been out of this state. Really?  I am sure there are those that are content to not go any further than where they live, but I have always had the desire to travel. There are so many beautiful places to see. I remember when my husband and I first moved to Denver, every weekend we would put a cooler in our van, stock it with water, snacks and take off. We found some cute towns and cool places to “check out”. Places like Hanging Lakes, Tiny Town, Garden of The Gods, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, and so many ski resorts. Wow… talk about fun times.

getting started

As I sit here deciding what to write and actually how to write it, I am overwhelmed and excited! I have stories to tell and many places of travel to share, so l just need to get started!  My worse critic will be myself; so many times I have started to write something and felt like it wasn’t good enough to post. I need to build my confidence and just enjoy what I love… writing. So here goes…
